The Russian Doll Skirt

So I was pondering to myself, how and when I would take photo's of the refashioned dress I was intending to show as my first proper post here, as its a bit too fancy to model indoors or on the back of the bathroom door. Then I had a light bulb moment, I have already blogged about a re-fashioned item! and not even thought to share it here! doh!

without further blather I present the Russian doll skirt

This is a super simple project, unless you like to faff like I do :)

Basically this is a big scarf cut in half and gathered into a curved waistband, I used a black cotton voile for the waistband which looked very blah next to the print of the scarf so I embellished using some fancy machine stitches.

Happy Refashioning

I need a faff, that looks awesome! All I can do with my machine is straight stitches D'x
I saw this when I checked out your blog after your first post. Still obsessed with the dance of the dead dress BTW. I seriously look for similar pattern EVERYWHERE I go xD

That looks amazing! I haven't tried decorative stitching yet but thanks for showing me how good it can look. You haven't provided a link to your blog, so I'll have to hunt around for it unless someone reads this message and can tell me? :)
