I saw this sweater and just loved the owl. However, I learned it was burberry and cost $1200. Yeah, I don't think so!
I decided to use a sweatshirt and recreate the owl by hand embroidery.
First I tried to make this sweat shirt not a sweat shirt. I removed all the bindings: collar, bottom, and sleeves. I also removed that stupid triangle applique. I hemmed everything using an edge zig zag stitch and then folded under. I also took off some from the sides and also the arms. I also embroidered an owl in the center for this end creation.
I need some different styling suggestions. But most of my winter clothes are packed until I move to the cold weather. I different button down would work (and not stripes) and I could always go tank top and let the collar slide. I seriously love my owl. For more information on this project click here.
xoxoxo,
Lauren

could you put some 'straps' across the wide parts of the neckline. Maybe you don't want it to be particularly blingy, but it still could be done in the fashion of one poster a little while ago who put chains across the shoulders?
Alternatively, if you wore it over a turtle neck or similar high neck knit undergarment for cold weather. Or for a woven shirt, you could use one that has a grandad/mandarin/ or neru collar?
I am sort of thinking you need to taper the sleeve hems. or fold over a flap of it and stitch it down with owl shape buttons?
Just some ideas. :) Perhaps one will spark something that would suit your own style.

That owl is seriously cute. Nice work.
Love your owl --way too cute! Good job!
Very cute. I don't like sweat shirts usually, nice remake. Id not thought of them as sweater material!
I think I'd try a long sleeve t shirt or underarmour that coordinates with the owl colors.
