Italian silk dress: a simple hack job

Does this count as refashioning? I bought this Italian silk dress at a thrift store for a few dollars. It was a bit long and overwhelming when I tried it on at home:
I washed it and tumble-dried it and hacked off the sleeves and bottom hem. I think it looks a bit less overwhelming on me now:

I would say, yes, this absolutely counts as refashioning. Sometimes the simplest changes can make a huge difference. Love how it looks on you now. Much better!

Thanks ladies for your comments! I'm still getting used to wearing the big print. I'm going to try this with leggings and a long sleeve knit top for this winter.

Such pretty fabric, I think the print is actually ok on your shorter frame since you shortened everything up. Very cute now and I'd say some tights and boots or booties would be pretty cute too :)

Even the simplest refashions count i think! The dress is lovely and I agree it would be good layered up with tights and boots.
