Lady's skirt to boys pants

I absolutely loved the navy blue drill fabric of this too big lady's skirt. The pocket and stud detail was interesting too.

After cutting out just 2 pieces, to keep the pockets and metal studs, I ended up with these size 4 boys pants. I added a jeans stud button and had to do a button hole, but that's about it, as I used the existing top waist band. I overlocked both back seam separately, so I was able to take in the back seam to fit, the way they do on men's dress pants. I threaded some elastic into the 2 sides, just to take in a bit more and give it a better shape.

Then I just had to hem the bottom, and there you go !
