super quick summer leggings

whew, it suddenly got pretty toasty here in southern italy, so we've been breaking out all our summer clothes, which reminded me to share this useful and quick summer refashion i did last year. my daughter is tall and skinny, so she always has the issue of long pants fitting properly. so these leggings fit her perfectly in the waist but were too short. so i transformed them into summer leggings.

snip snip!

hem hem! (with a double needle to give a nice professional look and allow for stretch) (yes, i know in this picture they're inside out. in the original post i was showing how to calculate for perfectly sewn hems.)

i hated to waste the extra fabric i cut off, so the leg bottoms became cute little pockets...

... and a scrappy bracelet for me!

full details in this post on my blog!
