I scored this INC top at a yard sale, only it was 2 sizes too big. No problem. I sewed the sides to fit and cut off the band and shortened the bodice. Then re-sewed the band. No too much of a transformation. I do a lot of these types of 'refashions' and don't usually post them because they are so simple and I have done them over and over again. BUT, this time I added strips to hide my bra straps. I HATE my bra straps to show. Call me old fashioned I guess.
Here is the process:
Before...not really. This is the finished top. I forgot to take a before, but it looked the same but larger.
bra strap tab... I used a piece leftover from the discarded sides that were trimmed off. I added snaps.
Still need to get a bit neater with sewing those on.
tab closed.
How I plan to wear it : )

Old fashioned? Nope. Your are showing respect for yourself by not revealing your undergarments! I always say if you you don't have the right foundation, don't buy or make clothes until you do.
(I blame my always perfectly dressed grammas for that, but there's worse baggage to carry 'round).
And dinna worry about posting 'simple' refashions. It's all about inspiring the rest of us!

Love the green fabric and love the wee bra strap tabs. I've started making them on some of my tops. It just looks better with some clothes
Love the bra strap tabs, fabulous idea!
