Yellow Rose of Texas

This dress is way too big. But the fabric is so bright and fun!

Yellow Rose of Texas Dress-to-Cami Refashion - Before

Gotta save it! Maybe a nice summery tank top. And before you ask, yes, I know it's August, but here in Texas, summer lasts through October.

I removed the bust portion and the 100% polyester lining. I flipped the skirt upside, reusing the shirring as the waistband and taking in the sides. Finally, I reattached the straps to my new top edge.

I'm totally loving it and will absolutely continue to wear it, even in winter, but with a cardigan probably.

fantastic idea to keep the shirring as a waistband! :) Lisa

And thanks for the Texas weather tip -- I'll be there in early November!

Just a thought -- those straps could easily be wider, but that's just two cents from a wide-strap kinda girl.

Yes, I could've made new straps, but I took the lazy way out and just reused the existing straps I cut off the bust portion.
