This dress was a back-up plan in case my other emerald dress for Refashion Runway didn't pan out (Have you voted yet? The deadline is Friday, October 4.) It looks a bit more blue here, but trust me, it's the same teal-ish emerald as the other dress.
Ultimately, after the other emerald dress went according to plan, I decided to go for a fairly simple skirt with this one. I used strips salvaged from the bodice and sleeves to create a waistband for my new wrap skirt. And since there was so much fabric in the skirt originally, I even did some loose pleats on the front flap, giving it kind of a kilt-ish vibe, which I'm totally digging. I also gave it two set of buttons, which means my new skirt is adjustable. So I can wear it high-waisted or on my hips.

you're genius... this worked out so well too. =D
The extra pleating is wonderful!
I think it would work for those of us who really don't need loads of extra fabric all the way around.

I'm glad I am not the only one who had a back up too. Mine is still sitting in the closet. LOL
