S.O.S. (Save Our Shoes)

We've all had a pair of shoes we didn't want to let go of. They were comfortable. They were easy to walk in. The fit was great. They were well loved, and it showed.

Sometimes, you just have to face the fact that you you have to say good-bye to your favorite shoes. But sometimes you don't. If your shoes are faded or stained, but otherwise in good shape, you may be able to repaint them. (Note: Depending on what your shoes are made of, the paint may not stick.)

Here's how...

What You'll Need:

1 pair of aging or stained shoes
acrylic paint (Get the nicer paint, not the cheapy craft paint. It will look nicer and last longer.)
paint brushes (A thin one for detail and a wider one everything else.)
paper towel

How To:

Step 1) Gather your supplies. When picking your paint, choose whatever color(s) you want. Be creative, and don't be afraid of color. Maybe pick a color scheme used by your favorite artist or designer.

Step 2) Clean off the shoes as best you can. Make a mental note of potential problem areas. Some stains are harder to hide than others.

Step 3) Paint your shoes. Use your wider brush to fill in the larger areas, then use your thinner brush for the details. Clean up any mess ups with a damp paper towel.

Step 4) Wear your shoes!
