Ruffled "skort" out of tee shirts

WP_20130822_001
I made this ruffle-y skirt/short over the summer using a stack of cozy tee shirts that didn’t fit anyone well.   I used green shorts as the base so that when my little girl twirls around or climbs monkey bars she’s covered.  No one wants to see Dora undies!

I think the mix of patterns is really fun, and three old shirts found a new purpose in life.

Your friendly neighborhood Thursday editor comes to you from Albuquerque today, where she is seeing lots of ruffled tiered skirts on people of all ages.

She is tempted to ask if any are also skorts like this adorable version.

She thinks it might be better not to ask.....

What a fantastic idea to sew the ruffles onto a pair of shorts! I'd never thought of that! :) Lisa
