I replaced the ugly old button with a new sparkly one and re-positioned it to tighten the jacket up a bit. A second button gives it a double-breasted look. I shortened up the sleeves and used the remnants to create little rosette embellishments for the pockets, complete with two more buttons.
I think details like these really zhuzh up a plain old boring blazer. I'll definitely get more use out of it now!

I have to go look at your blog to find out where you got the extra fabric for the flowers. Love this, seems more put together to me than a bunch of random beads and ribbon which is what I saw in a magazine while standing in line at Joanns to day.
