Dresses are my favorite thing to redo, they're just such a fun article of clothing. Well, this one wasn't, but I have a thing for shirt dresses.
First, I wanted to do a DIY fabric stamping technique. Then, I just went with a fifties housewife-y look as my inspiration. I was able to make this a little more fun through the use of appliques, buttons, a striped belt, and cute shoes.
I know, I probably should hem it up. I can't help it, I love midi length.
Check out the full post with all the exciting details on my blog Craft, Thrift, or Die.
While you're there, you can look at this dress, too!
Craft, Thrift, or Die: Vintage-ier than 90s. I didn't give this dress its own post here on the Co-op, because I forgot to take a before picture. I do that sometimes.
Thanks for looking!

Great job!
Love the results, especially the gold dress. I love it paired with the fishnets also.
Speaking as a housewife, I think the length is perfect for fifties retro!
I hear ya on the 'before' pictures'. Would you like my tip? As soon as you acquire/decide to refashion a piece, just take a shot -- it doesn't matter if you aren't going to get to it right away!

Love the dress it's very cute! You look adorable!
Thank you, everyone. Can't wait until the temps are above 0 and the snow stops pelting us so I can wear these, comfortably.
Thanks, IWOM, that's what I should do. I always think, "well, if I'm going to share this pic with the internet then I should wait until Ive got some makeup on and my hair brushed." I can edit my head/face out of the picture if necessary :)
I love love love the belt with the gold dress. I love the dress. Great job!
