I think the elastic lace is pretty and works perfectly for this refashion! I don't think I've ever seen elastic lace before. Great job. The sandals looks comfy.
Joyful. First, it isn't real leather. And I just cut the straps with a scalpel (I'm not sure it it called that in English. A toolreally sharp blade) and stitched the edge by hand with a leather needle and waxed linen thread. And lastly tinted the edge with black shoe polish.

Interesting fix. How did you get the backstrap off without ruining the leather?
