More Sweater Refasions
If I find a sweater with good fiber content and a very loose knit at the thrift store, I snap it up. The fit or style doesn't matter, since I plan to unravel it for knitting. I can make up to 6 pairs of mittens from one sweater. Once I made a scarf, a hat, and 4 pairs of mittens from one 100% wool (woolrich) sweater. Above is a pair of mittens I was working on using up odd bits and ends from unraveling sweaters.
And below is another sweater skirt! This one is 100% cashmere, so soft and so warm. Since the sleeves were raglan, I had to put patches in the sides. And since it was kind of short, I used one of those sleeves to fashion a separate, added on waist band giving a little more length. This is my last sweater skirt of the season; I love them, but I am anticipating warmer weather soon. (Those are the wool socks I wear inside my boots.)
