Resizing a reversible dress

I faced a sewing challenge not too long ago—altering a reversible dress. With an ordinary dress, I'd flip it inside out, take in the side seams, and be done within minutes. With a reversible dress, though, there's no inside out!

The trick to this alteration was finding a place where I could get in between the two layers of fabric, do the taking in (twice, once for each layer!), and then sew it all up again unobtrusively.

There's more detail (and marginally helpful pictures) over at my blog, but here's the before (side one) and after (side 2).
