Army green shirt dress

I have been wanting a long sleeve shirt dress. I made one from new material once but the armyce was too short and I just turned it into a sleeveless dress. So when I found his dress at the thrift store, I knew it was time for redemption! The bottom of the dress had a lot of fullness and I was going for a more fitted look.

I first cut off the length of the dress and detached the bodice from the skirt.  Next I fitted the waist while removing excess fabric from the sides. Then I worked on the bodice which included fitting the sides. The sleeves were 3/4 but fitted me weird , so I made cuffs from the excess fabric cut from the length. The only thing left is to complete cuff top stitching and button holes but I ran out of thread.

So, I will order more thread to match the color and hopefully I will be able to wear it soon : )

This looks like it was really an ambitious project. The work really paid off with this great dress. It looks handmade just for you.
