Save the Shrunken Sweater; Make Mittens!

Hello Refashion Co-op. Have you ever accidentally put a wool sweater in the washer and dryer when it needed to be dry cleaned? Ugh, me too.

Here is the sweater in question. It is a nice heavy wool/silk blend. I decided to make some mittens. The waist band made nice wristbands of the new mittens. I traced my hand and used my machine to stitch the two sides of the mittens together.

I was able to make two pairs of mittens and used the leftover material to make a headband/ear warmer.

This is right up my alley. .. I have done this many times. ..I also line them with fleece for extra warmth. Great idea.
