The Sweater Skirt

Hello Refashion Co-op. I had this blue sweater from my maternity days. I decided to make a warm cozy skirt out of it.

I started shaping the top into a waistband and closing the front. I turned the raw edge at the top under and used a zigzag stitch to give it a little stretch.

Here you can see how it opens so I can get it on and off.

Here is my completed skirt just in time for the coldest weather we have had so far this year. It was a terribly cold day but my new skirt is warm and cozy.

Thanks for reading, for more pictures and details go to

The skirt looks so comfy, such a clever refashion, and a neutral colour to go with everything.

Very cute and cozy! I'd like to offer that buttons (just for looks) all the way down the front might add a little something extra to the look. Of course, it's cute the way it is too! Good job!!

Thanks Ladies. I like your button idea E, but I didn't have enough large buttons. Maybe a trip to the fabric store is in order!! :)
