Happy creative New Year to all of you!
Remember this refashion into a sweater vest or slipover from last year? I wanted to upcycle and embellish the neckline and found myself doubting which way to take it.
So I thought.... why not ask your opinion?
Here are the ideas I' deciding between:
Which one should I go for? Just the lace? The lace with beads on the right? Or just the beads in the middle? (Or none of the above:)). I do have a very, very small preference for one of the options, just a teeny-tiny bit! But I don't want to influence you...
So, I'm curious, what would you advise? Let me know!
Update January 13th
Thanks for helping me out here! I started with the lace last week, and then added beads. But I wasn't sure, so I left out the lace again and also liked 'only beads'. But I really love the lace (the colours work better in reality), so I couldn't let go of that at first. A case of kill your darlings I guess... I sensed a general agreement on 'either' but not both:) in the comments, which sort of confirmed my slight preference for the beads.
So here's the result!

I like either the lace or the beads, but not both. I think I prefer the look of the beads the best!
I like either the lace or the beads too but not both of them together.
I only like the beads, for me the colour of the lace is not matching well.
My vote goes to the beads!
Ok, so not both, and I sense a preference for the beads..... Thanks!
Shame on me: neither of them is appealing to me; '1/2-sorry' for this.
Boring me would very likely leave it as is or maximum: lace some more matching cord/ribbon around the neckline down to the V-Tip (chest?) under the ribbing/binding part to just casually tie it there; perhaps with bead/s as 'end-bit/s' ?
Yet never forget: YOUR life = YOUR decision/preference is the final valid one!
And I'm pretty sure it doesn't change 'The Content' at all; perhaps just make a tad more happy ?!
Love and happy decision making,
G.
'None' was one of the options actually:). The colour of the lace is a better match in reality, I'm afraid that's partly to blame on the photograph. But I'll admit I like colours clashing a little...
Giggle; means the way more correct version to express my opinion would have been to 'tick': "Or none of the above" ;-) :-D.
Btw., perhaps another 'consideration' for the use of the lace: as a separate insert (buttons?) for THIS item and hence perhaps usable elsewhere as well?
You probably did realise already the sort of knitting-style is getting longer and longer during a day of wearing it? At least it happens to me and hence I'm therefore storing them already 'hanging-style' to avoid those slowly happening 'nakeding-surprises'.
Due to often possible hot weather conditions* here I quite like those airy, open knit garments. To avoid a 'miserable comfort' due to a necessary bra (which I hate and is a 'jobless chap' due to lack of material to hold in my case anyway) just for the sake of others not being able to control their views (and obvious 'body-automatics') I have sort of to be added panels (buttons and loops; since stretching won't rip them out of their anchoring!) for the front of needy garments. Those are anchored somewhere in the front side seams of the armpits and at one or two loops at the high side of the revealing neck line = bingo; at least for me (too much?) 'freedom-fan'.
If 'bra' isn't any issue for you than even better: fixture/loop behind the lace and added to your bra - as once shown by another lady somewhere on inet (sneaky sus: here?!). Still to be considered: the 'wandering' jumper and whether the lace part/lengths is long enough to cover the jumpers 'unpacking abilities' ;-) .
Love, G.
* during your recent post about the 'fairy floss jumper' I was actually thinking something like "useful item; if necessary one could even wear it inside-out in different weather to my dominant hot one here. I think, I would precautionary 'nice-n' the seams inside with sort of ribbon/slight contrast yarn winding around them. Yet I think to reach/keep an even stretch AND achieve the deco-look will be a bit of a task ?"
What a cute idea! I love the survey!
