Increased boob size #2 - Refashion FBA - Bodice side gussets

Another former refashion, that had become too little in the chest area.
When it still fit me:

I ripped it open in both sides with my seam ripper, approximately 10 cm (4") down.

I interted a piece of lace elastic, the same kind I used for the Grey dress.You can use a piece of matching or contrasting fabric, but I like the lace elastic of (at least) two reasons:
It makes the final result look on purpose, like the dress was always like that. With a fabric insert the result can look patchy or hippie-like, which is not my style.
And as the lace elastic is...elastic, it is a good helper in getting a good fit.

Now room for more in the bodice.

By the way, I also "refashioned" my dress from. I couldn't adjust it to match my new measurements, because I have quite a large difference between bust and underbust. I adjusted the dress form, so the underbust measurement was correct, and put a bra on "Linda", stuffed to match my bust measurement.

Sundress to beach cover-up

I started with this sundress that was just a little shorter and less flattering than I like. It also had broken straps, so rather than repair it, I made it into something I'd been needing for a while: a long-sleeved cover-up for the beach!

Before

I'm modeling a pair of earrings I made from old credit cards;

After 

It closes with a pair of simple ribbon ties. I made ties at ties at the waist and the neck, so I can wear it open, tied only at the waist (which I think is the best look) or tied at both the waist and neck for maximum sun protection.

I made the sleeves extra long (for maximum sun protection again) but put in some drawstrings to keep the sleeves under control for when I actually need to use my hands!

Increased boob size #1 - Refashion FBA - Back gusset and open front

I have put on a little weight, and most of it has placed itself in my bust, which has almost doubled in size (No, I haven't had plastic surgery). Very odd weight gain (probably hormonal), but who am I to complain about that.
Except that I do: I have been the same size there forever. Therefore every single item of non-stretchy upper body clothing, that I own, has become too small.

I wasn't willing to part with this dress. I sewed it myself, I love the fabric, and it has pockets!

I cut the bodice open down to the (place where you have sewn bodice and skirt together. Name of that?) both at the front and the back. I was inspired by Schoolhouse Tunic.

I put a piece of elastic lace in the slit the back.

I just hemmed the edges of the slit in the front. The dress now requires a camisole underneath, but I can use the dress.

Pockets! Don't want to part with those.

Paganoonoo: repairing worn out inner thigh on jeans

At Goodwill recently I found a perfectly fitting pair of NYDJ skinny jeans except for two problems:

Worn out inner thighs, really worn out

Worn out back heel area

I decided it was worth a chance to spend the time to fix them and see how it turned out. 

I used parts of a collared dress shirt.

This is a yoke from the back of the shirt

And I used a bit of the placket and adjacent fabric.

I'm pleased with the results.  The inner thigh patching doesn't show when I am wearing the jeans.  There are more details here.

Earth Mama Costume

Hey Yall!
I have a bunch of theatre projects on the go... Here is one costume I refashioned for an Earth Mama character! I started with an extra large sleeveless sundress in lime green with a shirred top. I was making this into something size extra small, but I didn't have exact measurements, so stretchy elastic was the way to go!

I cut off the skirt, shrunk down the size, turned it upside down and pinned the shoulders in place

I used an awesome textured scarf and some dollar store flowers to decorate the piece

I finished it off with some sleeves that were cut off from some green leggings! (Sorry no pic) Here's the final image, front and back... What do yall think?
