Star Lord and Gomora

This year for Halloween, my husband and I dressed as Star Lord and Gomora from Guardians of the Galaxy.  It was pretty labor intensive making the costumes, plus decorating a room to match, but also lots of fun!

If you'd like to check out more pics, including closer details of the costumes, check out my blog, Second Chances by Susan!  Thanks!

Sweater Two; Pink Cashmere

Hello Refashion Co-op. It is cold and I hate to be cold. I need warm fuzzy sweaters ready to wear. This blush pink sweater set was perfect for being cozy and warm.

I also had another sweater with this pretty lace back. I don't like this big pink sweater because the open lace is really cold. What good is a big thick sweater if it doesn't keep you warm?

I removed the lace and put it on the back of the cardigan from the sweater set. It matched perfectly and it looked just as pretty on this sweater, but it is a lot warmer.

Skirt into Dress recycling

I found this lovely but much too long and too big silk skirt in sh near me.  I had few ideas how to refashion and renew it even before I bought it but finally I decided that dress 👗 will be perfect as I love silk dresses not only in summer.

Sweater One; Polka Dots

Hello Refashion Co-op. I am getting some sweaters in shape to wear because it is cold and damp. I need to be warm and cozy.

This polka dot sweater was cute and it fit but it had some residue from a sticky name tag on it. It would not wash out so I decided to cover it.

I gave it some thought. In the end I used this BIG rick rack. It covered the mark perfectly but it looked ridiculous with the ruffle. The ruffle was going to have to go.

I got rid of the ruffle and this sweater was ready to wear. I liked the rick rack. It was fun.

A Poppy Refashion

I have been hanging onto this over-sized tank top for a few years now, I am embarrassed to say. Today is the day this tank gets a makeover!

Love the poppy flowers on this!

Remember this from my Positively 60's Refashion Part 1?
Remember how I loved those lace sleeves, good thing I kept them!

I started by shortening the straps.

I am going to add these sleeves to my poppy tank top! Hooray!

I pinned the sleeves inside out onto the inside out tank top.

DSCN1900Once the sleeves were sewn on it was time to take in the top at the sides.

Don't mind this adorable photobommer!
