Down-sizing

Hello! I've not been in my sewing room for awhile but figured a simple refashion would be a good place to find my motivation again. So I took an old, but hardly worn pair of wideleg pants that were too big for me:
And gave them a major down-sizing to these nicely fitted skinnylegs:
I know it's not the most exciting refashion but I still love that I've made something unworn from my own wardrobe wearable without spending a cent =)

Peace out, Huli

I like it. I always admire it when people brave 'trousers'. I am way too scared to give making or altering trousers a try just yet. I always seem to end up converting my trousers into skirts.

They look fabulous on you and it is exciting because now you WILL wear them!

I'm with Eddie, and often shy away from trousers too, they look great Huli!

hey thanks :) They weren't too hard to take in...I chalked in a line on both the inner and outer leg seams using a pair of skinny jeans as my initial guide. The only hassle was getting the inner leg seam sitting in the right place which meant unpicking and taking more off the back of the legs than the front... but now I'm very pleased with the end result!

EddieDuckling - I know what you mean. I challenged myself recently to take two pairs of trousers and instead of turning them in to skirts, to make them into tops. I'm excited to see them coming together but I'll have to wait to post as I'm waiting for the right fabric to finish the idea in my head to come across my radar. My idea is to use a coordinating fabric as a trim for each top. Of course I could go and buy the fabric but I'm committed to making these a complete refashion.
