Granny Chic?

Remember readers I asked advice of what to do with this frumpy-tastic dress? With suggestions of a drawstring casing waist, which is exactly what I did, as well as shortening the sleeves

Frumpy-tastic

Pretty fabric

Chop chop

New sleeves

I used the excess fabric cut away from the bottom of the dress to make casing for the waistline, stitched inside the dress, with 'button holes' for a drawstring (also made from the same fabric) to pull through at the front.

And here it is:

Granny chic?

I knew the fabric would be a little sheer, but until I looked at this photograph, didn't realise quite how much! Definitely needs a slip worn underneath.

My husband isn't so sure of this refashion. Maybe the colour doesn't suit my skin tone? What do you think?

I would consider unbuttoning that very top button Then I think you should pair it with some cute heels some funky chunky bracelets and wear it ALL SUMMER LONG. Super sweet dress, you did a nice job.

I like it a lot, actually (guys don't always know what's what)! The only thing I would have done differently would be remove the collar and make it a V-neck, but that's only because I have a short neck and don't like collars on me. :) -Jillian

It's fabulous!! Colour suits you perfectly. I would probably have changed the collar too though. Maybe remove it and have a simpler neckline...hmmm. You got me thinking now!!

Ok so I already commented on your blog, but I still think it's cute. If the color is possibly the issue and you don't want to dye it, you could re-do the collar in a different color OR wear a necklace in a color that suits you better. I find that color only really matters when it's near my face. Thus: yellow skirts. :)

I agree with previous comments. I like the colour but and not 100% sure on the neckline.
It definitely suits you.

I like the dress. It's very spring-like. I know some guys don't like floral (including my husband) so I wouldn't take that comment personally.
