Peacock dress

Hello! It's been a wee while since I've posted...naughty me! Time to catchup...Yesterday I had fun refashioning this dress I pinched from my sisters garage sale pile:
I'm pretty sure she only wore it once to a party a few years back so it was in brand new condition. I loved the print but the style was just not me! So I carefully unpicked the top from the skirts and made a floaty, girly skirt from the longest skirt layer&the skirt lining:
I made the tie belt out of satin sheet remnants I had in my stash. I then hemmed the top but as I'm not much of a fan of tube tops I pulled it down & found it fit perfectly as a mini:

Now all I had left was the shorter top layer of the skirt and after eying it up decided it would make the perfect little top so one side seam & rolled hem later it was done:
So now I have 3 very wearable pieces from one old unloved dress =)
I've decided to give myself another op-shopping ban to help me get my creative juices flowing again...and delve into my overflowing stash & to-be-refashioned piles.....so there will be more to share very soon! x huli
