It immediately shouted *bag* to me but I wasn't sure where to begin. Those gores were unequal and the seams seemed to be ultra thick.
But I was eventually brave enough to cut into the skirt making sure I avoided the embroidery. And this is the resulting bag:
I curved the corners so that it was less pointy. Again, I had to watch out for that pretty embroidery.
The back panel of the bag was made from 4 roses and the front from 3.
It is lined with a beautifully coloured teal sheet that I also discovered in a charity shop. Well, when you see it, you've just got to buy it, haven't you?
I added an internal pocket and the bag was complete - ta-dah!

both fabrics are gorgeous and the bag looks wonderful! did you manage to make two of the bags, from the front and back of the skirt? :) lisa
It is stunning as a bag. The flowers are gorgeous....well done.
That looks great! I have some embroidered pants I have been trying to visualise into a skirt, but a purse may be the way to go.
Great way to reuse the dress! Well done.
Very cute!
