Open Casting Call for Refashion Runway: Season Two and a Denim Jacket Refashion

It's that time again......time to try out for Refashion Runway: Season Two. 

We all had such a great time during Season One. It was fun getting to know some very talented and creative seamstresses. If you were wanting to get in on the action last time, don't wait another minute. Send in a couple of before and after photos of your favorite refashions to bhunting@eoni.com, fill out the form and give it a try. Who knows, it might be you this time. It's a great way to meet some new people and get some exposure for your wonderful blog. 

Here’s how it’ll work:

Much like Project Runway and The Great British Sewing Bee, we’ll choose eight refashion seamstresses (or seamsters) to compete in weekly challenges. The refashions will then be scored by their fellow competitors and open to a popular vote. The scores will be combined to find a weekly winner and one competitor will be out (not without a prize for participating though). At the end of the series, whoever is left will not only receive a nice prize but will be crowned the winner of Refashion Runway: Season Two!!

Now onto a  quick denim jacket refashion.

My body isn't made for boxy denim jackets. They seem to accentuate my "nice wide baby makin' hips" as my ruggedly handsome contractor husband lovingly calls them.  I love the look of the jackets on other people, but they really don't do much for me. I had a couple of denim jackets from the thrift store, I thought I'd combine them to make a more flattering peplum.

1. Cut off the sleeves

2. Cut off the bottom of the jacket to your waist

3. Take in the sides

4. Use the second jacket to make a peplum for the bottom

5. Attach the peplum to the bottom

6. Hem the armholes
