Upcycled T-shirt with Poufy Sleeves and Sash

I've seen a lot of blouses at the mall that mixed wovens with knits.  I never sewed anything like that before and wanted to give it a try.  I found these two shirts at the thrift store.

I liked the tulip print on the red blouse and found a t-shirt to match.

I chopped the sleeves off both tops.  I kept the sleeves from the red blouse and the bodice from the t-shirt.  Then I serged the sleeves to the bodice.

I finished off the sleeves with gathers and a band.  I made a sash with the rest of the red blouse.

You can read the full tutorial on how to upcycle and refashion a blouse and t-shirt on my blog TrevorLovesMommy.

Great job! (especially the finishing on the sleeves! I'm impressed!) I think that is a really fun idea to mix the two fabric textures.

This is such a pretty refashion!!! I will have to do this, I have several sets of sleeves I've taken off of dresses.
