The Tweed Dress

Hello Everyone. It is time for a dress. I don't have many dresses and was happy to find this at a clothes swap. It is a great black and white tweed. It was soft, comfortable and in good shape. It just needs some re-shaping.

I marked where I would sew in marker (Crazy? I know!) so it would show for pictures. My pins have white heads and they didn't photograph well for this project. I cut off the marker marks after sewing. I took the whole dress in along the sides and I also made very small darts along the front seams to help define the waist.

It is much more flattering now and just as comfortable as it was before. The best part of sewing for me is making things fit my body and not the tall, leggy model in the magazine.
