Sequins and Slippers...

Hello!!

SO! The talented Susan won the velvet challenge, the first in this season of the Refashion Runway - Congrats Susan!! AND - we all escaped 'eviction' this week... so the stakes are high, as the Metallic round rolls around...

I've had a look at all the ladies' work - and it's incredible to see how different everyone's take is on the subject; I love seeing all the different approaches and techniques used!

I think I was driven by a love of disco... and dancing... and wanting a sequin skirt in my closet for AN AGE! Starting with a sequinned tunic...

...making adjustments to create a skirt... adding a bejewelled top into the mix,,,

(*please excuse the extreme close up!)

I chopped, recropped, fitted, sewed, and re-sewed, and hemmed til I was left with this...

It is as blinding as it looks.

Loving the work of everyone so far, contestants and people sewing along, alike!

Can't wait to see what the 'Buttons' challenge throws up... until then, check out the Renegade Seamstress's blog to place your vote; and for all the details behind my make, check out my blog!

Until next week x
Gema
