Hello Refashion Co-op. I did a fun refashion recently that didn't involve any sewing at all. I bought this striped shirt without trying it on. It was too full and billowed like the sail on a pirate ship in the breeze. I needed to take it in.
I cut narrow horizontal strips on each side of the shirt. Then I cut off the ends and tied the strips into knots. I cut off the excess from the knots when I was done.
It was super easy and worked like a charm. The shirt was smaller and fit much better.
I bought a second shirt with the same shape and fit. This pink floral shirt had a front panel made of nylon. I hate working with nylon because it frays so much. The back of the shirt was knit T-shirt material. I used the back of the shirt for the knots. I cut up the center of the back of the shirt and then cut the strips and tied the knots.
This was a very easy project. And it was easy to adjust the length of the cuts to change the fit of the shirt.
