Tankini

I was shopping for swimsuits and found the perfect material and design but it was a one piece and I wanted a tankini.  I was prepared to make my own top but for under $25.00, I couldn't  pass it up because I wouldn't be able to buy new fabric / supplies for less than that. I chopped of the bottom of the suit and hemmed under using a zig zag stitch. After watching many tutorials, I did make the bottoms from new swimsuit material because I wanted more coverage than off the rack offers. This was my first time working with swimsuit fabric and was really fun and easier to work with than I thought.

That looks awesome!! As a bonus, the tankini is more flattering than the 1 piece!!

I love it, it looks great. I never like the swimsuits at the store so I haven't bought a new one in years. This is a great idea and you did a great job.
