After the nasty smell was gone, I did indeed make a sweet little dress to take to my granddaughter on our visit. It's a tad too big--one of the pitfalls of sewing for someone long distance--but it will soon fit better. Babies do have a way of growing quickly! You can read more about this project here.

Gorgeous!! I have 2 boys, I'm dying to make little girl dresses!
very cool...i also have a boy and would love to make girl clothes instead ;) I think this is such a sweet little dress, good job!
From functional to sweet.....this is a great re-use of a lace tablecloth.

Absolutely adorable!! Thanks for sharing your link to tips on removing musty smells. I usually wash with bi-carb soda, vinegar and eucalyptus oil to remove that vinegary smell. Usually works once its been hung outside to dry!

So, so sweet!!!
I read your original post over on your blog and am so glad to hear that you were able to get the musty smell out. What a beautiful dress you made. Amazing how an outdated curtain can be made over into a fabulous outfit.
That's such a great refashion. The dress is wonderful!!! Loved it!!! And yeah, good thing about babies is that they grow fast.
