Missy from Love Flow Creations again. This dress started out as a round table clothe. I cut two slits in the center. One horizontal and then one vertical from that. Be careful not to cut the slits to large. I did that with the first dress. It is a lot looser, because I made the opening to large. The vertical slit makes the v-neck in the front of the dress.
Put the dress on and have someone help you pin the straps on the dress where you want them. One end of the straps attaches to the points in of lace in the front. The other ends attach at the back of the dress wherever you would like them. I used Godiva ribbon for the straps.
I sergered around the lace edges to help stop fraying. I added vintage laces and vintage mother of pearl and shell buttons.
My inspiration for this dress comes from the book DIY Fashion, page 80 Elegant Lace Dress.
These pictures show it over a thrift store find sweater dress. This is great for winter. In the summer it looks fabulous just over a slip. Great for those really hot days. I was wearing the first one I made, the very hot day when I first met my sweetie.
Happy refashioning :-)

I love that lace dress! So beautiful! It would also look great with a slip, tights and a cardigan, belted or with some bold accessories!
