I loved the colour, the fabric, the fit of the bustier, the pockets. The dress was just one size too small around the hips.
I cut the top and the bottom away from each other and rehemmed both.
Then I inserted a piece of jersey fabric, where the zipper in the skirt had been. Both to replace the zipper and to make the skirt slightly bigger.
Now usable for me. And I will get a lot more wear out of it like this (how often do you need a figure hugging cocktail dress) ;).
I am still not quite sure on how to embellish the constrasting jersey in the skirt to accent it and make the skirt look less like "My bum was to large to fit in this skirt, so I had to insert this piece of fabric".
I thought ribbon, some lace, or .....
Oh, and do you have any ideas on what to style the bustier with? Bustiers is not part of my usual look, but I like it. I am thinking layering.

perhaps you could applique similar shapes of the jersey pointing down from the waist. or even a few pointing up from the hem.
Stitched on with large hand stitches a bit like the Alabama Chanin look?

Very well done! You did a great job refitting these pieces.
Bustiers aren't part of my wardrobe either, so I'm afraid I don't have a lot of ideas on how to wear one. Maybe over a dress to give it a different look, or pair it with jeans to dress them up a bit.

I would sew a peplum out of pleated or interesting fabric to make the bustier longer and wear it without the shirt.. or under seethru blouses, more modest than cisibke bras
