Since I joined the Refashion Co-op, I've been playing catch-up, of sorts, sharing my refashionings with you, with my projects from last year... The reason? Mainly because I want to get those projects 'out of the way' before publishing both here, and on my own blog, in tandem... but also because I know those posts are written, done and dusted, ready... and, hopefully (because of all your posts, knowledge, and support) I'm now getting better at it... or more confident, anyway! So, I just want to say thank-you again, for being such a lovely talented bunch.
Not being from a sewing background, it really means a lot to me, to be a part of this community.
And on to my stripy summer dress from last year - although it has no sleeves, the relatively heavy stretch knit fabric was like a long suffocating tube, not exactly fitting for the warmer months (especially if you know anything about travelling around on the London underground... JUST STIFLING!)
So I searched for inspiration online, knowing that the one thing that would definitely change would be the length... and, after adding few changes, including a waterfall hem, thin straps, and then a new front panel... I found a different look that would see me through a few more summers... hopefully!
To see the process in small sections, come vist my blog :) And, as always, I'm interested to hear how you may have done things differently - thank-you in advance!
Happy Refashionings,
Gema x

I love this! the extra at the front really lifts it from being just an ordinary maxi(or even summer dress) to something special!
Sandy (also in the UK)
I love the refashion. Great job! However, I think I love the puppy more! So cute and adorable.
