Colorblock Heels Refashion!

Hi all!

First of all, I hope this post is okay. It's not "clothes" per se, but it is a wearable and it is definitely a newly-important part of my wardrobe. If this isn't okay, feel free to remove!

A few days ago I had a blast painting some shoes. I LOVE shoe recons, but I'd never done one before. I decided to start small, and I think they turned out great!

I started with these super-boring black heels I bought for work:

I taped off the areas I wanted to paint so I'd get a nice smooth line:

 And painted them with gray acrylic. It took two coats to get the full coverage I needed:

Unfortunately the lines weren't as smooth and straight as I wanted them to be:

So I took some black waxed cotton cord from my jewelry-making stash and super-glued them in rows over the painted edge:

This wasn't part of my original plan, but it turned out even better than I'd originally hoped!
