Hello refashion Co-op. Happy New Year to all of you. I had this floor length black dress that reminded me of a choir robe or gown from when I was young. I wasn't in the choir but they all had long black robes to wear for performances.
I used the lower portion of the dress in my last refashion. What you see in the picture below is what was left. I had the top of the dress and the inner lining. There is a sheer trim at the bottom of the lining that matched the sheer sleeves. It was very pretty. I wanted to save it.
I made a dressy top from the dress. I removed the lining and then attached the sheer trim to the bottom. It made a long tunic style top with a nice flowy ruffle at the bottom. I thought it would go with anything. I also thought my daughter would like it.
I was right, she liked it. For more details and pictures go to I Can Work With That.

You got two outfits out of one, what a bonus. I like them both but is it wrong to say the before dress also looked nice?
Hi whatthesew. Not wrong at all. The dress was just too long on me, but it was pretty.
