To Maxi or Not

Hello Refashion Co-op. My daughter gave me this maxi-dress that she didn't want anymore. I am a sucker for navy blue but the length was not right.

Well, it was not right for me. I am really short, maxi-dresses are never my size.

I did a lot of experimenting as you have already seen from the top photo. What did I want this dress to be?

After a lot of thought and a lot of cutting, I made it into a top. That was what I needed most in my wardrobe right now.
