Hi everyone, the idea of this refashion kind of grew on me. I'm not a star at detecting fashion trends, but when I first saw the slipover (back) in the stores, I had my doubts. Why would you want to wear something that would keep your arms cold? But slowly, I got used to the idea and could picture a preppy look with a nice blouse underneath. A few weeks ago I had my hands on this old salmon pink sweater and knew just what to do with it. So I rolled up cut off my sleeves and got started!
A simple but effective refashion this time, I hope you enjoy the idea!

How about "Pullunder" and "Seelenwärmer" ;-) ?
Furthermore: parts of Germany (even the south ) seem to go with the dutch word "Spencer" as well.
Despite using several words for the same clothing item, the word "Seelenwärmer" (translates as "warmer of the soul" ) nowadays comes to my mind first when looking at spencers even 'more reduced of any warming material' as you've got your concerns about "Why .... keeps your arms cold?"
Those actually rather elegant looking spencers do not even have closed/shut sides. Some of them are worn 'just hanging down back and front panels kept on ones body by the neckline part and the shoulder seams only'. Some have got sort of 'deconstructed' side-closures via several smaller strips/panels with 'heavy air flow gaps between them. Some are made with 'very loose dangling' tie-closures along their otherwise not at all closed/shut sides or only tied together at their very 'hip deep'/lowest end of the garment.
My humble opinion to those 'deconstructed' ones: they seem more suitable for the indoor winter conditions of my current country of residency. Another advantage: it's a way more 'adjustable' garment for women suffering heavy menopause heat fluctuations.
I'm having a closer look already at a few old jumpers which - oh 'shocking' disappointment - with time/age 'shrunk OFF my body': "deconstructed" could be sort of a miracle rescue for them (and me) !
Btw.: let's not talk about any 'language-jokes' (of former joyful, funny and none-attacking 'none-political-correctness') which we are perhaps forbidden to playfully tease each other with nowadays since they might be 'rated racist' /..\
Yet: remember a few, nice 'old ones' in comparison of English, French and German; please and "Débardeur" seems just another 'special' of another 'different special nation' ;-) :-) :-D.
Btw.: I had at one stage in life a very very 'disappointed' mother interrupting/ignoring the rest of a beloved cooking series. Reason: she was eagerly waiting to learn about how to make a "minestrone" to feel left down learning, this was only the Italian word for THEIR version of a vegetable soup \../
... she did NOT believe her daughter about this before hand since daughter was considered 'not knowledge-able' enough to know about 'important cooking skills' ;-) ;-) :-D

By any chance: did you perhaps by now 'compromise' your former 'gourmetten-jumper-slogan' with an attachable sticker of a medium sized "PLUS" sign to - occasionally (?) - cheekily cover the tiny word which is perhaps 'not aaalways truthfull' ;-) ;-) ?
