Sweater to Legwarmers

Unfortunately, I have no before picture this time. This was made from a sweater whose sleeves had become too short for my arms after a sudden growth spurt. All I really did was cut off the sleeves and then take them in a bit so they wouldn't be too flared out. My brother got a sleeveless baggy sweater afterwards.

I wear them all the time, and even made a black pair my friend :)

Poetry on T-Shirt

Hello all! I've been busy making holiday gifts all the people on my list, so I haven't been doing much refashioning.
Today I decided to do something with a white t-shirt I had with the aerie logo on it.

Now I don't really like logos (so unoriginal and I feel like a walking billboard!) so I wanted to cover it up with something unique. My mom suggested doing a butterfly or a dragonfly, but I thought that putting one of my poems from my blog would be a fun idea.

I had to cover the birds and the word "aerie" on it, so I decided to add vines. Otherwise the logo would've been too conspicuous. If you're wondering what the original poem is, here's the link: http://mindscapeexploration.blogspot.com/2011/02/human-nature-static.html
I like it so much that I'm going to do more on some other shirts I have...

Eye-In-Stein

Sorry I didn't get to post this any earlier, but I had no good pictures of the costume. So basically, the costume is made up of my mom's old t-shirt, my dad's old dress shirt, some felt and fabric scraps, and some markers. We made the little ghost thing in his pocket just for fun. He also had a name tag that said "Al" on it, and another label on the back of his lab coat the famous "E=MC Squared" formula on it.

Halloween costume in progress

Hello all! Sorry I've been silent lately, but high school has filled up my schedule quite a bit! I've been working on my little brother's costume as Eye-in-stein (Einstein). My mom is making the lab coat, while I'm doing the eye in a stein work. So far, I've drawn the stein on the (very) large t-shirt that used to belong to my mom, and started on the eye made out of scrap felt. This is what it looks like:

I'll be adding some veins and eyelashes to the eye. I'll post up the finished results as soon as I can!

No Sew Slit Sleeve Shirt

With school starting yesterday, I've barely had enough time to squeeze in refashioning!! This shirt took less than 3 minutes to make, so it was perfect for the time I have left between school and my other stuff.

(I'm sorry for the bad lighting! I was in my basement at the time.)

T-Shirt Gadget Holder

I found this helpful little project in Generation T: Beyond Fashion book. It's been in good use, as I have many wires and chargers that normally clutter up my desk!
