Floral Culotte Makeover

Unfortunately once I have the unpicked in my hand I zone out and like many of you I forget to take my before photo. Im going to make a sign for my sewing room "Before you unpick take a pic!"....
This skirt began life and very wide legged culottes and after a season I decided they needed a revamp. I added cream net gores and a vertatile waist band that could be wrapped around twice (before a meal) or left to hang longer.

Wedding dress conversion- zip to lace up back

Kim purchased the dress online but it wasn't exactly what she was after,
she dreamed of a laced up back!

So with a little fear and trepidation (working on such an important project) I took to it with the seam ripper's and carefully unpicked the side seams and took them in, to cause a gap at the back. Then made up the satin loop tube which was attached to a stabilising tape then inserted into the centre back seams. It turned out to be quite tricky then I placed a satin panel underlap.
Can't wait to see pics from the actual day!

Bra to Bathers

Before
Before
Have you ever found a Bra so Cute and Comfy that you want to wear it on the outside... Just so happens I found the perfect bather bottoms to match it,  I did a little juggling and hey presto!

After adding the frill I then removed the centre bow .

Lime Tier Skirt to Swing Dress

When I picked up this Op shop skirt it had enough material for 2 skirts and looked very bulky but I loved the colour and the Broderie Anglaise fabric so I unpicked the side seam and cut out a section saving it for the bodice, I based the dress on Gerties Buttericks pattern B5882, fitted with a boned bodice, I loved the style and I finished it with a trim at the waist.
I also whipped up a tulle petticoat and headed out for the Esther House Foundation Fund-raising Swing Ball with my bestie Sherl, a wonderful night was head by all.

Pants to Top

Now all I need do is cover the centre seam...

Just a little low for my liking!

These pants just screamed out “Peasant top” to me ….so they went under the knife and seem to adjust quite comfortably.
Now the process didn’t go exactly to plan and I did end up revealing a little more than woman my age should, but it was simply fixed by swapping the back to the front, now I will not rest until I have devised a way to hide the “new” centre front seam.
All in all I was quite happy with this little refashion.
