Back in style refash

I am very grateful for revolving fashion trends!  It makes refashioning & thrift shopping so so great.  Very easy refashion from dress to skirt, but you can find it here  HAPPY FRIDAY!

Pinterest inspired shoe re-do

I don't have a how-to for you tonight, just something fun I finished this afternoon and can't wait to wear & share.  It was a bit finicky and took me 2 tries, but SO worth it!  These are my pinterest inspired re-done pumps.  They were just a simple nude, nothing fancy pair of pumps that had been sitting untouched in my closet for way too long.  I have a bit more info here , but basically this is them. Aren't they purdy!

Hope you got time to do something that made you smile this weekend too!

Ready for spring blazer refashion

Happy weekend everyone.  I have another blazer refashion to share.  I took this number from what resembled more of a lab coat than a blazer to something much more stylish and ready to be added to my spring wardrobe.

I also lined it (completely wrong I'm sure) but it looks really cute open as well.

You can check out this rehash here

Have a great day!

sweater refashion

Hello again!

Heading off to work today in on of my sweater refashions, so I thought I would share.  I turned this very odd, large, flutter wing sweater in to a cute sweater dress I have gotten a lot of use out of.

Here is the original post but basically:

Too big summer dress to comfy and cute dress for every other season

Happy Monday!  It's a holiday (family) day here so I was able to get in some extra sewing time this morning (YAY).  Whipped up this number for my oldest girly girl.  We don't get a whole lot of use out of summer dresses here in Vancouver so I decided to make this lovely but large summer dress it in to something that would work for a bit more of the year.

The after

Happy kid!  Posted over on my blog

Have a great day!

just loungin around

Happy weekend!  I wanted to share a re-fash I did a while back now.  I wanted  a pair of those loungy elastic cuff pants but wasn't really sure I would wear them, so I decided to make them myself.  Found the perfect print in an oversized skirt and went for it using an old pyjama bottom pattern.  You can see the rehash in my original post here

Until next time,

Newbie here

Hi there.  Super excited to be a contributor to refashion co-op!  I find you all so inspiring.

I am pretty new to refashioning. I started totally by accident as I'm sure most do. I was frustrated by fabric prices and went looking for alternative fabrics for an occasion dress from my daughter. Found some very fun things at a thrift store including a sweater that just needed some tailoring to be really cute... and so it began. Refashioning appeals to my desires to be different, creative, thrifty and environmentally conscious. So hooked!

I try my best to post my creations to  www.whyknotmom.com but sometimes they only make it to Instagram. Here are a few from this week. Sometimes the stars align and my machine and I have lots of quality time!

When 2 (large) Blazers become one.

The blazer needed pants to complete the outfit!

And one for my youngest :)

When I'm not sewing I'm busy being a mom to two beautiful, busy, and fun little girls, a wife to my sweet husband Dave and/or busy with my big girl job(s).

Until next time, and thanks for having me!
