A bird in the hand is worth two on a shirt

a little bird landed on my old ugly halloween t-shirt

see here....http://spindlejigs.blogspot.com/2011/06/when-pumpkin-hatched-there-was-bird.html

the fabric is a gift from a friend (part of bin and two bags of fabric and trim etc..) this is my first foray into the bin

tattered and rosy and a little bit cozy

I needed something slightly dressed up to wear, had no luck shopping, so I went through my closet and came up with this.
Not so much a refasion as a re-boot...a shirt I love but don't really wear anymore,
I covered the buttons with roses and suddenly I love this shirt all over again.

I made a bracelet to match out of scraps and such and was ready to go. Easy peasy and a fun re-do on short notice...
the bracelet and the shirt are on my blog

The absent blogger

Life has been a bit crazy the last few months and after a long creative dry spell I've made a few small things from old t-shirts

A headscarf for my friend

and a bracelet from my favorite t-shirt inspired by my favorite author.

not much but it'll do for now....btw, love love love the clothes on here, what an inspiring bunch. I thought about dropping out for now, then I came on and had a look through and decided I want to be a part of that....

Indigo!!!!!

Here is a top I made out of a fabric remnant and the remains of an old shirt (that has a new life in three new pieces of clothes) Hand sewn because I'm and Alabama Chanin fanatic. but still not quite what I wanted.

Here it is after my first time using real indigo..
loved it, will use it a lot I think, or as much as I can stand a blue wardrobe.

and on my blog with more pics, including some other things that went into the vat.
