I wear the blouse to show how it looks now, although it is not actually made to fit me, I've made it as a gift for a friend.

I've removed the sleeves, stitched them back on but shorted their length, moved the front of the shirt to the back of the blouse (buttons down the back), and for the first time, I've made my own bias tape to close the raw edged neckline, with the help of my iron, and a nifty little bias tape maker (thanks Skippingtail for the tip on nifty tape maker, and thanks to Miss P for her masking tape tip too)...

Eye-In-Stein

Sorry I didn't get to post this any earlier, but I had no good pictures of the costume. So basically, the costume is made up of my mom's old t-shirt, my dad's old dress shirt, some felt and fabric scraps, and some markers. We made the little ghost thing in his pocket just for fun. He also had a name tag that said "Al" on it, and another label on the back of his lab coat the famous "E=MC Squared" formula on it.

Halloween skirt

I've made a lot of stuff recently (A few things still to be finished) and it's about time I got around to posting it!
First, a magical skirt I made for my Halloween costume.

The purple panels were sleeves from two different dress shirts. They each have a buttoned cuff that makes the waist band all cool and expandable, but it actually fits me perfect as it is, with all of them buttoned. I sewed them down most of the way and then added a few triangle layers of black tulle between the sleeves. Despite the several tulle layers, though, it was still a little too see-through, so I'm wearing a black skirt underneath. Isn't it cool, though?

Zombie Bride Halloween Outfit

I made myself a zombie bride halloween outfit for a party on Saturday. I took a long sleeved tshirt with a round neck, folded it in half then cut off the neckline up to about half an inch away from the shoulder seam to make it an off shoulder top. I made the skirt from 10metres of tulle which I did have to buy but I made the underskirt out of some white knit I had in my stash and a hula hoop :)

Hand Drawn Patches as Embellishment

My latest fun is hand drawn patches.

I used a fabric marker, the Tee Juice fine point marker in brown. You just draw and then iron to heat set.

I sewed rattie onto my purple tunic, and the bird onto a thrifted top I had dyed a while back.

I am not completely sure how I feel about them. Perhaps a bit 'stuck on' looking? I plan to do some embroidery stitching on them to create a kind of transition with the clothing. The good thing about the patch is I can always take it off and put it onto something else.
