Baby Goat Silhouette Shirt!

As a school teacher, my ability to be crafty and bury myself in a wealth of fabric in my sewing room is hindered a bit by time constraints.  It's so nice to be able to just devote some time to my creative side.  I got one day into Winter break and found myself already digging through my drawers of stuff to refashion.

This is what I dug out: a too-small teal shirt that I liked, a promising burgundy tank, and a pile of men's undershirts.  (I didn't use the burgundy tank this time, but I'm sure I'll get around to it.)

The shirt was made bigger and snazzed up by baby goat silhouette.  Really love it now!

Visit my blog, One Red Shoe, for the full post and a tutorial.  AND there's a fun surprise on the back of the shirt- check it out!

Tahitian Sunrise

I was going to throw this frock out as it was an insipid unflattering yellow.

I thought I would give it one last chance to see if it could be fiddled with in order to make it nice.

Well what a difference a dip-dye makes...rose red ( more like blood red ) and there you have it- a perfect summer creation.

By far of all my projects I have to say I'm the most proud of this one. From a style and a technique standpoint this project has motivated me to do more. This is also when I realized my skills were getting a little  better. Seeing your projects get better is so rewarding. I still have a long way to go but this keeps me going. There wasn't too many steps to this project but visit my website. For the step by step process.
Happy Holidays everyone!

A couple of spiffy little refashions that my momma created for Love Flow Creations.  The first start with a very pretty raspberry sweater.  Mom added the bottom of a man's dress and a couple rose on the skirt.  The second dress started with an orange sweater.  Then mom added a vintage linen piece as a skirt, with a crocheted lace ruffle.  Then a large vintage doilie on the front of the sweater.  Totally sweet and toasty.

Quickie DIY: 60s Vintage Daisy pin Upcycled to Necklace

Here's another quickie DIY. I did it in about 10 minutes during my lunch break. I had a 60s era vintage black & white enameled metal pin, as part of a bulk deal from an estate sale.
I also had this blackened chain tassel, from a necklace that I took apart for another project.

I also had some broken chain left behind from another salvaging project.

I put the pin onto the jump rings, and attached the metal tassel under the pin.

Here it is, on.... I plan to apply a clear glaze on the flower, to keep the flower enamel just "worn enough".

Saint Salvage strikes again.... for very little time and next-to-no money!
