Although I sometimes pretend that I'm a high fashion designer, I have a day job as an elementary teacher. I'm also a mother to a rambunctious two-year-old. On my free time, I love to sew, crochet, shop at thrift stores, and lay on the beach (I'm lucky to live in Hawaii).
For my first post, I've put together a lovely peplum top for you. However, it didn't start out so lovely...
I chopped the bottom off and detached the sleeves. After altering the top portion on my dress form, I pleated the peplum around the midsection of the top. Lastly, I sized up the sleeves and reattached them. This top went from frumpy and outdated to stylish and chic. More details can be found at my my blog.

Lovely trish! Welcome to the blog!!
Ahh I LOVE that!!! Great job! :)
Lucky to live in Hawai'i? You are preaching to the choir -- or at least the EOD, who hangs her hat in the country known for tartan.
Mahalo for sharing!

Love this and I just have to say I love your hair too! I've dreamed of going that short and somehow just can't go there...but any who, it is gorgeous on you and I'm glad to see you posting here! Also loved seeing your refashions over at the Renegade Seamstress' recent sewing challenge. Welcome :)
I agree, Sandy. The top was in a pretty bad state before the refashion. I was glad to give it a new life.
Thanks, Lauren! I'm so excited to be posting here.
Thank you, Stephanie. I am happy with how it turned out.
Hmm... You live in Scotland? I would love to visit there one day. I bet it is gorgeous.
What a sweet comment, Andrea. Thank you. It took me a while to go short, but I'm do glad I did. Getting ready in the morning is a breeze.
