I went to a clothes swap last month, and at the end of the night, as we were cleaning up, someone was about to throw away this broken belt, made of braided suede that was coming unraveled at one end. I quickly snatched it up and saved it from a gruesome death. I knew just what to do with it!
Using some jewelry pliers and notions, as well as a couple random charms from other broken jewelry of days gone by, I created six bracelets, a necklace, and a pair of earrings.
Not bad for something that would've ended up in a landfill!

Yay for saving it from the trash! I love love love the tassel earrings and have been wanting to create a pair for myself (I've got some superfine chain from a broken necklace I'd like to use). I like the variety that you created with the bracelets, as well! Great job :)

I love that you got so much variety from one belt. Really great refashion.
