Blinged-Up Blazer

I've had this blazer hanging in my closet for a year or so now. It was initially thrifted though I don't recall the price; certainly less than $5 tops. I've only ever worn it a couple times though. It's fine, just a little too plain, with sleeves a little too short, and now it's a little too large as well.

I replaced the ugly old button with a new sparkly one and re-positioned it to tighten the jacket up a bit. A second button gives it a double-breasted look. I shortened up the sleeves and used the remnants to create little rosette embellishments for the pockets, complete with two more buttons.

I think details like these really zhuzh up a plain old boring blazer. I'll definitely get more use out of it now!

Really cute now! I especially love the flowers/buttons added to the pockets...that was just the right touch to finish off the transformation! Great save :)

I have to go look at your blog to find out where you got the extra fabric for the flowers. Love this, seems more put together to me than a bunch of random beads and ribbon which is what I saw in a magazine while standing in line at Joanns to day.
