So Much Purple #3

Hello Refashion Co-op. My post today is about purple clothes, mistakes, and failure. I have been trying to work through a pile of purple clothes in the refashion stash. I don't know why I had so many purple things waiting but I did. I actually had 2 purple long-sleeve t-shirts with sparkles all over the front. How did I get 2? Do I need 2 purple sparkle shirts? I didn't think so.

Here is the purple shirt. I wanted to combine it with this sleeveless floral shirt. The color was right and its too cold to wear a sleeveless shirt.

I didn't like the sparkles with the floral pattern so my bright idea was to cut the sleeves off the purple shirt and attach them to the armholes of the floral shirt. I thought this would be so easy. I was so wrong.

I really messed up here.  I wasn't sure what was wrong. The new shirt was SO tight. I could barely button it. What happened? The sleeves shouldn't have made the shirt smaller.
I saw that I had caught some extra fabric in my stitching. I just needed to undo those stitches, release the caught fabric and then re-sew that little area.

And here is where things went from bad to worse. I ripped the shirt. I ripped it right in the back where it would be difficult to hide.
I was really angry. I might have thrown a little bit of a fit. The shirt is such a mess and I don't even want to look at it. Or keep trying to fix it.

Some days are like that. I hope you are having more success with whatever you are doing today. I was able to salvage the body of the sparkly shirt and I had more purple to go with it. I can just wear it under this purple plaid shirt and be done with it.

Thanks for reading, for more pictures and details of this mess go to I Can Work With That.

I'm so sorry for your mishap which obviously made you very unhappy.
Is there (perhaps ?) a chance, to rip the sleeves in their seams and puzzle them as sort of a 'godet' into the accidentally ripped back of the shirt?
I know, it might not be the 'sort of thing/cut/pattern' for YOUR liking, yet: to get others thinking who might actually like something like this?
The shirt would (of course) due to 'no sleeves' (again) and way more 'airiness' be a serious hot weather one only (except with a 'draught stopper/ shirt extender' underneath ;-) !).
Yet back to your mishap story: As sad as is for you as 'soothing' it's for some of us to learn, it does NOT only happen to us less experienced ones; thanks for this and your honesty !

Loving greets, Gerlinde
