Yep, I did the same 1 1/2 years ago in Berlin, where I suddenly needed some 'more elegant jacket': oversized ridiculous old fashioned jacket made of shiny yet lightweight fabric; revers/Collar over (like you did); added some 'bling buttons' (from elsewhere where THOSE looked old fashioned ^^!) ) and added some 'lace loops' (like 'epaulette style' which they considered fashionable over there right at the time ) and off I was! Best of all: since it was veeery lightweight and even 'crinkle style' I could even stash the entire jacket into a ball and into my handbag (= not even suit case size ;-) !) A yeah I forgot: I was entirely over the moon to have found some Op shop there, which catered well for my temporary needs without sewing machine for any amendments at hand: a) helped in 'situations' b) still kept me busy creating 'something of nothing' without sewing machine (= paradise!)
